Exclusive Block Case

BLOCK is a series of objects comprised of brass forms that plummet into cast crystal volumes. Molten Swedish barium crystal is poured into textured graphite molds, giving the cooled blocks the appearance of ice. The crystal acts as a plinth, both supporting and obscuring the heavy brass to create a sense of harmonious displacement. The series examines the relationship between the stable and the unstable, the unbreakable and the fragile, reflecting on what it is to conceal, to enclose, and to support.
